PBR Brake Installation

Thunderbirds have notoriously bad brakes. Don't know why but Ford put some very inadequate brakes on them. Even though I have the Sport package that includes larger brakes, I still felt improvement was possible. And I found I was right. Ford installed much better Dual Piston PBR aluminum brake calipers on the 99 and newer Mustangs. Coincidentally, these fit almost perfectly on the 93 and newer Thunderbirds. I finally got around to buying a set of Mustang Calipers on Ebay along with some Drilled Rotors. The old calipers, brackets, and rotors were removed and the new calipers installed. I'd love to write exactly how it was done but to save space I'll provide a link to the place that taught me how to do it.

Got some pics of everything of course:

NOTE: These pictures are of the installation onto the 97 Limited Edition.
As soon as I can I'll get pics of the brakes on the GT and post those instead.

I painted them first of course.  Look good don't they!

I then installed them following the above instructions.

Just to keep things looking good, I also painted the rear calipers and put drilled rotors on:
