Detailed specifications of my 1984 Quicksilver MX

(Updated 4/12/2005)

I have owned my 1984 model Quicksilver MX since 1994, serial number 6065. I flew it about 60 hours between April 1995 and August 1996. A complete restoration was completed in June/July of 2004. Aircraft was completely disassembled and every tube was inspected for damage, dents, cracks and elongated bolt holes. Flying wires were all inspected and found servicable but were replaced in February 2005 with heavy duty 1/8" diameter wires that lowered the dihederal by half. Tail skid and tail brace tubes were replaced. Aircraft was re-assembled using all new Army/Navy standard aircraft bolts, nuts, washers, shackles and pins. It is currently hangered at the Lowndes County/Fort Deposit airport (67A) in Central Alabama. The craft is meticulously maintained and regularly flown. Maintenance is done completely by myself, the owner. I have a background in metalworking in the commercial aircraft industry and hold an associate degree in tool engineering and 20+ years experience. I am well versed in mechanical maintenace and this shines through in the level of upkeep of my aircraft.
